28th game of the season for Catania FC, 16th time away from home.
The game is against the Dolphins of Taranto, team representing an important Apulian town of 200,000 people.
There is a big rivalry between the two teams, this is in fact going to be the 34th time that Catania plays in Taranto (15 wins for Taranto and only 5 wins for Catania, last time 27 years ago).
Last game between the Elephants and Dolphins was played in Serie C two years ago when Catania lost 3-2. This season Taranto already played in Catania, loosing 1-0 (goal scored by Di Carmine, see picture below).
The Dolphins are currently 5th in the ladder with 46 points, 12 more than the Elephants (13th position). Catania's players really need to win this game to get a better position in the ladder and to keep the momentum after the win against Juve Stabia. And in three days the Elephants have the highly important Serie C Coppa Italia semi-final against Rimini!
