Twentieth game of the season for Catania FC, first of 2024 and first of the second half of the season. It is also the eleventh time away from home for the Elephants, where so far have won four times and lost four times too.
The game is against the Sharks of Crotone, an important town of 64,000 people in the ionian coast of Calabria.
This is going to be the 12th time that Catania plays in Crotone, where Catania have won 4 times (the last one 24 years ago), while Crotone have won 3 times (last time in 2005, in Serie B).
the last game played was ten years ago in Serie B and it was a draw (see picture below from that game).
Despite last year they arrived second behind Catanzaro, the Sharks of Crotone have finished the first half of the season at the sixth place with 32 points, 7 more than Catania (10th).
In the last game at home Crotone lost against Avellino so they will be very motivated to get a win against Catania which instead is coming from a 4-0 win in Benevento.
Unfortunately no Elephants supporters are allowed to access Crotone's stadium, anyway let's hope to see a good game and that Catania wins.
