Seventeenth game of the season for Catania FC, ninth time away from home, where so far Catania has won only three times and lost three times.
The game is a special game. It's Messina- Catania, the only Sicilian derby of this season, it's the third largest Sicilian city against the second.
This is going to be the 42nd time that this Derby is played in Messina, where Messina have won 12 times (the first in 1930) and Catania 11 (last time in 2017 when Messina's coach was Lucarelli, see image below). The last Derby played in Messina (terminated 2-2) was instead two years ago.
Messina, despite they have won last game 2-0, are not doing great as at their are third last in the ladder with 14 points, 8 points less than Catania, currently 9th in the ladder with 22 points.
Last year Messina arrived 17th in Serie C with 41 points.
Let's hope to see a good game and that the Elephants win.
